What's the future of the social enterprise ecosystem in Gippsland? or even the whole of Victoria? Last week's Gippsland Social Procurement Roadshow might have the answer after some inspiring conversations with representatives from every corner of the Gippsland social enterprise ecosystem. Curated by CRSE Group Pty Ltd on behalf of Gippsland Social Enterprise Collective and sponsored by Social Traders, SENVIC and Wellington Shire Council, these discussions were an inspiring and thought provoking exercise in putting social enterprise practitioners in the same room as social procurement people. 🌟 What a thrill and a privilege it was to join a bus tour of Melbourne social enterprises last week! 🚌 Beautifully curated by Hume Social Enterprise Network (Trish Curtis), this bus tour is bringing life to the Hume Social enterprise ecosystem, by inspiring and connecting social enterprise practitioners from North East Victoria. With stops including Green Collect, Purpose Precinct, Clothing The Gaps, Collingwood Yards, a visit from Rebecca Scott, OAM from STREAT, and catering by SisterWorks Inc., we heard raw, authentic, and inspiring stories of what it means to operate in this space. Watching the enthusiasm and hearing discussions about future possibilities unfold reminded us of how critical this sort of collaboration is to all of our work. In the coming weeks, tour participants will have an opportunity to make sense of their learnings and to reconnect at a facilitated 'share-back' day. We look forward to watching the Hume social enterprise ecosystem evolve as a result. Well done, everybody.
