SEWF 2021: Halifax update

We can now confirm that we will not be holding an international in-person event in Halifax in 2021 due to the uncertainty created by COVID-19. All our 2021 events will be online. We recognise the importance of in-person gathering and are currently developing a model for Community Hubs to support groups to self-organise and hold their own events during SEWF 2021 (28-29 September) viewing live and recorded content, while also connecting locally in-person for networking and local sessions. Register your interest in becoming a Community Hub with more info coming soon.

Introducing SEWF's new Community & Communications Manager: Mirabelle Morah

We are delighted that Mirabelle will be joining our team at an important time for SEWF in this new and pivotal role focusing on building our online community.

Mirabelle is a young social entrepreneur and communications expert who has been recognised by the US Department of State and the BBC and is a We Are Family Foundation Young Global Leader. Alongside her role at SEWF, she will continue to run her social enterprise BlankPaperz Media - a platform that amplifies the voices and stories of young Africans. Connect with Mirabelle: Twitter LinkedIn

Partner events: Buy Social Canada Symposium (26 April)

SEWF is co-hosting the Buy Social Canada Symposium “Social Procurement Today and Tomorrow” on 26 April. The full programme is now online and includes panel discussions, breakout sessions and networking as well as the Social Procurement Champion Awards. Book before the 20 March to access the early bird rate.

“I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the digital format. The sessions felt more intimate and connected than seeing speakers up on stage. There were lots of opportunities to connect with speakers and with other participants. The speaker selection was fantastic.”
